Winemaker’s Notes
With the second vintage of Trifecta we have really hit our stride.  With the perfect fruit of a great vintage, this wine can't be beat and is already garnering raves!
Trifecta boasts an intricate nose of ripe blackberry, currant and red apple aromas, with touches of mint, licorice and rose petals that will keep your swirling and sniffing for ages.  The mix of French and American oak, 70% new, shows up in the background as dusty cedar notes.  Full flavors of red apple, cherry and rhubarb fruit with sweet cinnamon spice dominate the front palate, deepening into darker, richer tastes of mocha and black cherry preserves.  The palate shows the intensity of the vintage with a light, mouth-watering acidity and gripping tannins that prolong an elegant finish.

Drinking beautifully now, this young, bright wine has the perfect balance to compliment pastas in a rich ragu, grilled seafood and exotic Asian flavors that will highlight the wine's floral characteristics.  As the wine ages over the next 5-8 years, pair it with simple seared steaks and braised dishes that will stand up to the complex tannins.
For this gorgeous blend, the grapes are sourced directly from our three estate vineyards; with Cabernet Sauvignon from St Helena Ehlers Lane vineyard, Merlot from the prestigious Oakville vineyard and Cabernet Franc from our Longwood Napa Estate property.  The various soil types and microclimates lend themselves to this complex and seamless wine is definitely more than the sum of its parts!
