24 MEDALS!
4 More Golds! At the 2009 Orange County Fair Competition we earned 4 more golds: 2008 Gewurztraminer, Girlfriends, Peach Girls Champagen and Raspberry Champagne.
At the 2009 6th annual Critics Challenge International Wine Competition held on May 23-24 our La Cereza 2008 Viognier swept the judges off their feet to win "Best of Show, White Wine." This prestigious competition brings together many of America's most accomplished wine journalists for serious wine evaluation and critical acclaim. Collectively they bring an understanding and appreciation of winemaking styles and regional differences that characterize the global wine scene as it exists today. This high level of wine acumen is reflected in the results, which each year honor many of the most important producers from the greatest wine regions in the world, as well as emerging stars from lesser-known winegrowing regions.
At the 2009 Riverside International Wine Competition held May 1-3 10 of our wines medaled: Gold for Girlfriends; Silver for 2008 Viognier, 2008 Gewurztraminer, 2008 Pinot Grigio, 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, NV Vaquero del Vino, Peach Girls Champagne and Raspberry Champagne; and Bronze for 2005 Cabernet Franc and 2005 Tempranillo. What more can I say!
At the 2009 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition, the finest judges from around the world come together to critically assess the best wines available from wineries in North and South America, New Zealand, and Australia. And five of our wines took home medals: a Gold for the 2008 Viognier, Silver for the 2008 Gewurztraminer, Gold for the 2008 Pinot Grigio, Gold for Girlfriends, and a Bronze for the 2005 Garnacha!
The 2009 New World International Wine Competition is open to wines produced anywhere in the "New World", including all of North America, Central America, and South America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. This is the only competition in America, and perhaps in the world, to pit the best wines from each price class against each other to determine an overall best of variety or type. Two of our wines took home medals: a Silver for the 2008 Viognier and a Silver for the 2008 Pinot Grigio!
At the 2009 National Women's Competition Girlfriends took home a Silver, and our Peach Girls Sparkling Wine won a Bronze.
